I had the pleasure to be part of the team of IMT Mines Alès to the PINKCC Challenge organized by the Cancer Institute of Montpellier (Institut du Cancer de Montpellier). Our team was lead by Gustavo Andrade-Miranda.

The purpose of this challenge was to develop powerful segmentation techniques for the detection of ovarian cancer tumors, for which the cartography of metastasis is needed prior to the surgery and its accuracy has a determinant impact on the surgery's outcome. About 40 teams were participating to the challenge, of which 20 were selected for the final event which took place on June, 13th.

Thanks to the work of the team and of Gustavo in particular, we obtained the third place at the event 🏆. We can only hope that our solution and the solutions of other competing teams will be adopted by practicians in the future. We intend to participate to the challenge again next year, which will be dedicated to the pancreatic cancer.
